Idaho International Dance and Music Festival

Well, it was another great festival! We had nine teams from all over the world spend most of a week in our community. Many of them had never been to the USA before and very few spoke English. Teams stay in private homes throughout the community which is an amazing way for cultures to learn about each other, in spite of language barriers. Even though I didn’t take any photos this year at the departure, I was there giving the teams CD’s of all the pics I took as a gift to them and I saw many heart felt tears and hugs as team members and host families said goodbye to one another. If world leaders participated in these, I’m sure there would be no more war. Teams this year came from Belgium, Russia-Cossacks, Russia-Siberia, China, France, Israel, Greece, Mexico, and India.

Ted and Jenny

Ted and Jenny were married at the beautiful St. Edwards Catholic Church in Twin, and their reception was held in the club house at the Blue Lakes Country Club. We started out at Blue Lakes so we could get their portraits taken care of so they could join their reception sooner after the ceremony. A cloud burst of wind came through which made for some fun pictures. Good thing Jenny’s veil was on tight! I loved working with and getting to know these two and I wish them all the best:)
Happy 4th of July!

I just wanted to wish my friends here in America a Happy 4th of July weekend! And to my international friends, I wish you a happy weekend, too;) And, I have a gift. Here’s a flash slide show of the fireworks pics I took last year set to music, and if you’re running Windows (XP, Vista, whatever), you can download the fireworks as a screen saver. After you unzip it, open the “read me first” file and it will explain the easy options to install it.
