Shelly’s Senior Portraits

March 24th, 2009 by Cindy
Category - On Location, Portraits

Shelly is so sweet and pretty, and I totally enjoyed taking her portraits and getting to know her and her mother. She’s been a cheerleader since Junior High, which is when I first took her portrait. Evidently she’s known since then that I’d be taking her senior portraits someday. Time flies! It was cold, but she was tough and never complained. The light was amazing and worth freezing for :)

Junior Miss 2009

March 21st, 2009 by Cindy
Category - Community

It’s that time of year again! This year there will be 38 girls in the annual Junior Miss Pageant. I enjoy taking their portraits and designing the promotional poster every year. The posters just got in today from the printer, and there will be LOTS of them hung up all over the valley this next week. Here’s a sample of the poster. Their theme this year is Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I love that movie :) If you’re a local and want to go, you’ll need to get tickets from one of the contestants. With this many girls, it will probably sell out before the nights of the pageant. It should be an entertaining two nights!

In Use: Happy Young Couple

March 15th, 2009 by Cindy
Category - Found In Use

I got this sweet and fun email today from Christina, one of my favorite clients. It made my day so I just had to share:

“Cindy,

I just wanted to let you know of another sighting! A friend of ours was looking for airline tickets on cheaptickets.com and up popped a photo of Dustin and I. So, I checked it out myself and sure enough there it was…the pictures rotate through slowly or you can refresh the browser on that page and eventually you will come to an ad with the photo of Dustin and I in the grass where I am laughing (one of my fav’s).

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your photography. I often find myself at your website showing people how amazing you are, and just browsing all your inspirational artwork! We are truly thankful to you for capturing such precious moments in our lives. I hope to contact you soon for another family photo-session! The children are growing up so quickly that it is time to capture a new phase! I will finally graduate school in May so our busy lives should calm down a bit…maybe we can get together early this summer!

Congrats on all of your accomplishments lately…you truly have such an inspiring gift!
Christina and family”

Here is the original on iStockphoto.com. Makes me smile just to look at it and remember how much fun that day was:

Trista and Tobin’s Pre-Wedding Session

March 8th, 2009 by Cindy
Category - Bridals and Pre-Wedding

Beautiful pictures capturing the love these two share as they are about to be married was important to them. Since capturing those kinds of pictures on their wedding day was not going to be possible, we did them on a day when we could choose the time and have a relaxing session. It was so much fun! Even Tobin seemed to enjoy it ;) The weather was unseasonably nice, the light was great, we didn’t get kicked off the upper deck of the Conference Center – a rare experience for me! Then in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, a tour guide actually asked Tobin to play the piano when he found out he was a concert level pianist. And wow, it was amazing to hear him play :) Congratulations and have a wonderful wedding week you two! You’re beautiful together!

Jon’s Headshots

March 5th, 2009 by Cindy
Category - Portraits, Studio

Jon needed some headshots for something he’s pursuing and drove down from Boise one weekend to have me take them. It was great to see Jon and Jessica again and they look just as happy as they did on their wedding day :) We did most of them in the studio, but then stepped outside briefly for a few shots in spite of the bitter cold wind.
